The Duck Stops Here

The Duck Stops Here
Created by Monica Edwards

Hi everyone here is a card I created for KellyCraft™ with my Get-It-Straight™ Laser Square and Multi-Mat™.   I created a sort of collage with the stamp and then matted it against some matching patterned paper.  I used my tool to make sure the stamped pictures were lined up evenly.  Then I added some buttons - I am notorious for adding embellies on my card crooked and Iove my Get-It-Straight™ Laser Square because now everything is aligned perfectly.

KellyCraft™-  Get-it-Straight™ Laser Square, Multi-Mat™
                     - Duck Commander® The Duck Stops Here stamp
Black card stock
Wood grained patterned paper, brick red houndstooth patterned paper
Black ink pad
Dark yellow buttons
Scissors, Paper Trimmer

Ink stamp with black ink and stamp 4 times on wood grain patterned paper.  Cut out each image and rough up edges a bit.

Use Get-It-Straight™ Laser Square to align and mount 4 images, 2 over 2, on brick red houndstooth patterned paper.  Trim paper to create mat about 1/8" on all sides.

Cut second piece of wood grain patterned paper to serve as accent piece beneath stamped images.  Mount off center on the right upper front of card, about 1/8" from edges.

Mount stamped images centered on card front.

Use the Get-It-Straight™ Laser Square to measure in about 1" from right edge, then use end of scissor to gently tear down on wood grain paper about 1".

Use Get-it-Straight™ Laser Square to align and mount 2 buttons to the right of stamped images on wood grained paper.

I hope everyone has enjoyed my post for today and thanks so much fro stopping by!!

Love in the Air

Monday, January 26, 2015
Hi everyone Simply Monica with my 1st official post for Chameleon Pens.  Love is in the Air here at Chameleon so join us as we share a Valentines Day Card.
By Monica Edwards
This card was created using the following items: Chameleon Pens Bubble Gum PK3, Sky Blue BL3, Crimson Red RD4, Royal Blue BL6, Hot Cocoa BR2, Bark BR5, Bisque NU1 and Fawn NU3, Tim Holtz Tea Dye Distress Ink, Bazzill White Cardstock,Pink Paislee Patterned Paper, Tim Holtz Stamp Creative memories, Katie & Co Stamp Happy Valentines Day, Ribbon, Xyron – 150 Adhesive Runner.
First stamp the image and color the dress with PK3, BL3, RD4 and BL6.  Start off with straight color and then begin to blend by leaving the mixing chamber on the pen for about 10 seconds with each addition of color.
Then color her hair with BR2 and Br5.  BR2 was laid down first and then the mixing chamber was placed on the nib for  approximately 8 seconds before colouring in the highlighted areas, shadows were added using BR5.
Her skin was colored with NU1 and NU3.  NU1 is very similiar to E11 with copics it adds the nice dark tone to the skin when applied direct.  If you add the mixing chamber for 10 seconds you will get a nice E000 look, then continue, but decrease the time you hold the mixing chamber on the nib as you go, this will give you a nice even blend.
Use the Joy Craft Heart border for the side of the card and a Spellbinder oval diecut for the main image. A Joy Craft die cut was placed behind the oval, topped off with a Stampin Up diecut. Then layered with a simple straight square cut.
This card will certainly have the recipient floating on air, we will be bringing you more Valentines inspiration over the coming weeks so don’t forget to follow us with Bloglovin’ , just click the box to the right of this page, it is that simple!

Love Notes

Tuesday, January 20, 2015
Hi everyone Simply Monica here with another MarkerPop project.  Today I am sharing a easy DIY home decor piece perfect for Valentines.  I used these mini crates to make a Valentine note holder that you could even put candy in or maybe some other trinket items.  I used Winnie & Walter Love The Write Stuff Love Story stamp and Some Odd Girl Love Me Not Mae from the MarkerPop store.
I also used Echo Park patterned paper Creative Agenda to make the note tags

The flowers are handmade using some of the paper from the paper pack as well with the Cheery Lyn Tea Rose medium die

Here is a closer look at the note tags I made - I figure I can write little notes to my sweety on them and each morning he can pick one up and read something nice I wrote or a reminder to pick up some milk lol!!

Now this is my 1st project for MarkerPop using Chameleon pens I used: basically to get the different shaded you would use the infuser which basically is blending solution. I absolutely love these pens it is nice to not need so many to get the different colors.  The longer you infuse the lighter the color becomes and they work amazing with copics.

Skin: NU1, NU3
Hair: OR4, YR
Shirt: PK3, RD4
Pants: BR5, BR2

Well I hope everyone enjoyed my post for today and be sure to check out all the new goodies in the store!! There are so many new cute stamps for Valentines!!
