Play Ball

Hi everyone Monica here with a Craft-Dee Bowz post for Tuesday!!.  The task was to create a masculine and for me this definitely is a challenge because I am so used to doing girly-girl post so I hope this card turned out masculine and still pretty lol.  I created a single loop bow with the CDB tool by winding several times around the pegs and tying the twine in the center.

To be honest I never thought I would like twine really, but man where has this stuff been I absolutely love it because of its versatility you can use it for literally anything so I am sold on this stuff for sure.  I hope everyone enjoyed my post for today and thanks so much for stopping by!!

Hipster

Hi everyone Monica here today for my post I am sharing this counter top filer (at least in my opinion it is).  I found it at a consignment shop for 1.00 so I gave it a craft lift and now I will use it to hold my mail.  I used a soft pink paper and used a Some Odd Girl Stamp Hipster Mae on the front because she reminds me of how I feel on a daily basis.. always on the run with a coffee trying to get organized so there she shall sit on the front of my new mail organizer... lol

I added lined the the piece with some flatback pearls to dress it all up and of course I had to make some flowers for the front of course.

I hope everyone enjoyed my post and thanks for stopping by...

Creative Blogger Hop

Monday, August 25, 2014
Hello, everyone!  I was invited by the amazing Kelli  from Froggie Stamps to participate in the Creative Bloggers Hop!
The Creative Bloggers Hop is a continuous hop every Monday.  An invited blogger answers some questions and then nominates/invites three other inspirational bloggers to participate in the hop the following Monday.
First, let’s start with the questions!
1. What am I working on at the moment?
I am working on my next post for MarkerPop.  I work with the altered items and I love it.  I recently just started getting into coloring with copics and I have fallen in love with coloring.
2. How does my work differ from others in my genre?
Well.... I really dont think my work differs for others because I strive to inspire everyone in one way shape or another through my work somehow.
3. Why do I write/craft what I do?
I originally starting crafting when I was teen I used to love to keep things little clippings from newspapers etc... Then after my son was born well he was the love of my life and I wanted to make sure he knew how much I loved him and how involved I was in his life so I wanted him to be able to pick up a photo album and be able to almost read it like a book and remember all the funny quirky things he did as a kid.
4. How does my writing/creative process work?
Normally I pick out a piece of paper and I creative projects based on the paper although I tend to stare at it over and over.  I flip it turn, pick it up, put it down it goes on and on until my daughter turns to me and says mom I dont think its going to look any different.
Here are the three creative bloggers that I have chosen to carry the baton for the hop next Monday!
Monica from Simply Monica
Monica creates many amazing and detailed 3D items, cards, and mixed media.  She does something that is so different from my style and I love it!  There’s so many little details on her projects and they are definitely eye-catching!  I am inspired by her creative mind and how she can turn everyday items into something beautiful!
Samantha from Scrapmaster’s Paradise
Samantha crafts and creates many things!  She makes cards, keeps up with her Project Life albums, and has even started sharing some crocheted items!  She makes tons of video tutorials, too!  If you want to learn a coloring technique, see a card created from start to finish, check out a new product, or just learn a little more about her, she’s got a video for it!  I am inspired by her drive to always supply new and exciting content for her viewers.
Valerie from Val by Deisgn
Valerie creates adorable cards, and her new favorite, shaker cards!  Her style is bright and clean.  Since Valerie’s style is very similar to mine I love getting inspiration from her!  She also uses lots of animals in creations which I totally love.  I am inspired by her fun backgrounds and clean style.
Don’t forget to hop by their blogs next Monday to learn a little more about them!
Thanks so much for stopping by.  Have a great day!  :)

Memory Board

Hi everyone Simply Monica here to share a altered project I made uing my Helmar Quik Dry glue.  I found this box and I am not exactly sure what you would call it, but I thought it was perfect for a picture.  So I pulled the front board off and cut a piece of foam from some left over packaging I had as cushion

Once I was done I then took my Helmar Fabric Stiffener and Draping liquid and applied it to the ribbon so it was stiffer so that it would wrap around the wood easier
Then I used other ribbons from May Arts and made a picture board where you could slide multiple pictured and the ribbon would hold them in place as shown below

What was so appealing to me about this board was the side panels - where I could place a mini album on each of the shelves and it makes for a perfect gift

Thanks so much for stopping by everyone and I hope you enjoyed my post for today!!

Coredinations

Tuesday, August 19, 2014
Hi everyone Monica here and I want to share my post for Coredinations DT call.  I created some flowers along with a tutorial so you could really see how the color core makes a huge difference in how the flowers come out looking!
Supplies Used: Helmar glue, Ranger Distreee Core'dinations paper

Take your tweezers and twist the paper around each petal
They end up looking like this
Here I just want to show you how it is gives a shabby vintage look when you file the edges

Poke a hole to push the stamens through and I use glue on my stamens so they are more sturdy
